Dead Dreams

In the bed of the sea, lived a pretty pearl

Which was covered by a shell

It never knew what the outer world was like

It lived life in its own stride

One day it had to get out

it was excited to face the crowd

Everyone stood there as he emerged out

He thought it was welcome they howled

But they snatched him away from his world

Locked in the palm the pearl cried and hurled

He gave up the wish to see the world’s face

And ended up like all the pearls, in a necklace
